The Playing Basics of Bingo
Bingo may be a very simple game but it still has its playing rules. Before you wager your money for a bingo card, just be sure that you already have the basic knowledge of playing bingo.
The primary objective of all bingo games is to complete a particular pattern on the bingo card using the letters and numbers combination. The first player to complete the specified pattern on the bingo card wins the game and then a new bingo game will start.
The initial step in playing bingo is to acquire your bingo card, which has a corresponding amount that will serve as your bet. The amount of each bingo card differs significantly depending on how much is the jackpot level of the game. There are progressive bingo games where the jackpot ranges from tens to hundreds of thousands of dollars. Players of bingo are usually allowed to acquire and play multiple bingo cards on a single game.
Once you have already purchased your bingo card, you will notice that the bingo card is a five by five grid consisting of numbers and the letters B-I-N-G-O are written across the top of the card. Every letter has a corresponding column below it. The square at the center of the bingo card is commonly empty. If you like to cover this empty square with a marker, then go ahead and do it because it is absolutely fine.
Listening is an important factor in bingo. Listen very well as the letters and numbers are being called out like B-11. Then you need to find the column labeled B and search for the number 11 in it. If your bingo card has it, then you need to mark it on the bingo card. Bingo games are done in this fashion until a player or players have completed the specific pattern on the bingo card.
Most bingo patterns are usually vertical, horizontal, or diagonal line made of five squares. The empty square at the center can be used to complete the specified winning pattern. Another common bingo pattern is to mark all four corners of the bingo card. And the most famous variation of bingo is the "blackout bingo", where every square on the bingo card must be marked.
Once you have completed a specified pattern of bingo, you need to yell out "BINGO!" for everyone to know especially the game officials that you've won. The bingo game round will immediately stop and your bingo card will have to be authenticated for accuracy. If everything on the bingo card is right, then the jackpot will be given to you as the winner. There are instances that many players will win on a single game and the jackpot will be divided equally between the number of bingo winners.
Bingo is a kind of social game that gives fun to the players. Once you learn the bingo basics, playing bingo will be an easy thing for you already.
